Foundry Sands

Silmin Iberica supplies extra silica sands for foundry.

Our extra-siliceous sands have very defined characteristics such as their purity, with SiO2 contents above 99%, their rounded or subangular shape, high sintering point, absence of heavy minerals, as well as the most suitable granulometric cuts for this process.

Following the technical recommendations of the specialized research and development center in foundry. We perform analyses of our sands using sieves, controls in determining the content of particles smaller than 20 microns, controls in determining absolute and apparent density, determination of loss on ignition, as well as the refractory properties, which make the extra-silica sands supplied by Silmin Iberica highly valued in the manufacture of molds and cores or patterns of foundry.

Extra siliceous sands with granulometries  30 a 45 AFA (Silica used in the manufacture of large molds that require excellent gas permeability and that help prevent the formation of cracks.)

Extra siliceous sands with granulometries  50 a 55 AFA (A very balanced grain size distribution allows this extra silica sand to meet all the quality requirements and standards of foundries.)

Extra siliceous sands with granulometries  68 a 80 y 100 AFA ( (These grain sizes allow the production of high-quality surface finishes in cast parts.)
